A Watchful Eye

Lord you watch over me day and night

When I feel alone you comfort me

Lord I plea with you to keep a watchful eye

Don’t let me go astray

Help me to see brokenness around me

Pain and suffering must not be fought alone

Christ is Victor, Victor of my life

I watch as a child asks for someone to see them

They cry out and no one hears

What am I to do?

You call me to hear there cry and comfort them

Yet I run away afraid

Why O God do I run away?

I cry out to you and you hear

You comfort me when I feel alone

You never run from those who cry out

Lord give a Watchful Eye

Help me to see the lonely

Guide me to the ones who are alone

Clear the fog from my eyes

So that I might have Watchful Eyes

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

                                                                                                2nd Corinthians 1:3-4

Ok so a lot of the time as Christians we become fogged over in the eyes. If we were to ask ourselves how many people we have neglected to talk to or share the Gospel with I think it would be a startling number. We miss so many opportunities that God puts right in front of us it’s sad. We must open our eyes and realize what’s in front of us.

Just the other day there was this kid who was all by himself and just asking to be a part of a conversation. He wasn’t asking but his body language gave it away. I kept feeling God telling me to just go talk to him and what did I do? Nothing. I had to ask myself what is wrong with you Zach. This is a reoccurring problem with many Christians that needs to be fixed and it can only be fixed when we finally realize that God once comforted us.

When we realize that Christ first loved and comforted us then we can go and do the same, but when we don’t realize this truth our eyes will continue to stay glazed over. Let’s go and look around and find those who are crying out to anyone who will listen and just talk to them be an encouragement in their life. You would be amazed what impact you will have on their life.
