Sitting on the Fence

I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.
Revelation 3:15-16

Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
Matthew 12:30

The meaning of these verses has really been eating at me a lot lately. Am I going to be for God or am I going to be against God. Essentially that is what these verses are talking about. So many Christians are sitting on the fence whether they realize it or not and God says your either for or your against don’t be in between or lukewarm.

The one thing that bothers me most is when people who proclaim a relationship with Christ don’t follow through with either word or action. They stand in front of millions of people and tell them how they have been going to church there whole life but then they turn around and I am like how can you say that and then go do what you just did? Or we can take the scenario of people who go to church on Sunday and Wednesday but then the rest of the days they don’t even think or care about God. These in my mind are people who are sitting on the fence.

Now I’m sure you all are sitting here like man he is really pushing it here he is speaking harshly. Well and you would be half right. I like to call it harsh love. My main point for this blog is to encourage those who struggle like I do so often with sitting on the fence and help them to choose a side and I hope that I can be a light in your life that points you to Christ.

Here is the second half that will hopefully be more encouraging and helpful. I just want to tell you God would rather have you either all for Him or all against Him. I want all too know Him and love Him with their whole hearts. There will be many bumps in the road and He tells us that. The main one is persecution. I like to think about this topic a lot, would I be willing to die for what I believe? This is why we can’t be sitting on the fence, because if we are moments or bumps like this will make us have a very difficult decision. If you were for Him then it would be an easy answer and if you are against Him then it also will be an easy answer. Also I like to think that if we were sitting on the fence then it would only pain God more to see you tossing and turning between both choices.

So let’s be ALL FOR CHRIST everywhere we go. For those who go to work every day be all for every day, those who go public school be all for every day, those who stay at home be all for every day. When you stumble and you will God is there to pick you up, but you must choose to hold his hand. If you struggle with any of this I am willing to talk with you and I know you know there are a lot of people willing to talk with you. Thanks Everybody.
