Battlefield

Our mission field is a battlefield. Day to day we strive to do Gods will. And day by day challenges we face. Our mission field is a battlefield.

Lord, my foes are many and they rise against me. I will not fear the thousands who are against me. Lord, you strike the enemy on the cheek. You break the teeth of the wicked

. Our mission field is a battlefield. Day to day we strive to do Gods will. And day by day challenges we face. Our mission field is a battlefield.

Lord when I am afraid I put my trust in you. All the day long my cause will be injured. When I call upon your name my enemies shall turn back. I may walk before you Lord in the light of life.

Our mission field is a battlefield. Day to day we strive to do Gods will. And day by day challenges we face. Our mission field is a battlefield.

Your Glory Lord be over all the earth. And may your beloved ones be delivered. With God we shall do valiantly. It is you O’ Lord who will tread down our foe.

This life isn’t easy. It is not always sunshine and rainbows. It is warfare, and We step into it every day sometimes wondering if we are even going to make it. What am I talking about? I’m talking about being a Christian, a Believer in Christ, a disciple and servant of Christ. Everyday Christians around the world encounter spiritual warfare and even real physical warfare. The truth is that ALL CHRISTIANS go through these same things. What I want to talk about today is how to go into this battlefield without fear and also what weapons you should bring into this battlefield.

Alright so you are probably wondering why is he going to tell us about weapons when we aren’t really fighting? Okay so we aren’t in a battle with swords, guns, or muscles but we are in a battle of belief. A battle that Christ has already won and that those who believe have won with Him. The weapons that we need to bring on this battlefield are the Word of God and the Gospel. What I want everyone to understand is that God already defeated the enemy and what He calls us to do is Go and make disciples, to preach the Good News to all. We aren’t the ones who need to defeat the enemy because He already did that. So yes this battlefield is like no other. In fact we are supposed to lay down our lives for Him even if we die. Normal battlefields have no clear winner to start and have killing on both sides. Our battlefield has a victor and His name Is Jesus.

How do I enter into a battlefield when I am afraid? I want to answer this question to the best of my abilities to two different people. One to those who believe and two to those that don’t believe because they are afraid. First let me start out with those that don’t believe. Here’s the truth, yes it is scary and hard a lot of the time. And yes many have and will die for Christ, but what an honor. I know it all sounds terrible but it isn’t because of the Hope that we have. The one thing I want you to have that I have. That I know that Christ is creating a place where all His faithful servants will dwell with Him forever. There will be no more tears or pain, but love, joy and peace. I plead with you today that you would at least think about, ask questions. I want you to know this Good News that I know.

Now for those that believe I know it is hard for you because I live with the same belief as you. What I want you to know is God tells us to be strong and courageous to always be proclaiming this Good News. What we need to do when we go into this battlefield is armor ourselves with the full armor of God.  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.  In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;  and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,  praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints. This is Ephesians 6:10-18. So when you step into this battlefield know that you Serve a God who has already won.

Christians everywhere stand up and Go as Christ has called you. Be strong and courageous. We do too much worrying and not much proclaiming. I am the chief of this life; I can’t tell you how many times I have been in the middle of this battlefield and have fled for worry of what the enemy will do. We can’t do this anymore we must go into battle with each other and Christ. So please, please know that We have already Won.

“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,  bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.  To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either.  Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.

Luke 6:27-30
